Our Team

Our team spends pretty much 24/7 scouring Northern California for unique makers and their products to offer for delivery to your doorstep!

Gibson Thomas

Bay Area Doorstep Market, Founder and Curator-in-Chief

Edible Marin & Wine Country, Founder

Gibson grew up in the South, where she learned the power of lovingly prepared foods and bringing people together around the table at an early age. After an extended detour as a business attorney, Gibson came home to her passion for good food and drink, and the artisans who produce it, as the leader of the Marin County, CA, convivium of Slow Food. She founded Edible Marin & Wine Country magazine in 2009, with a mission of telling the stories of the extraordinary farmers, ranchers, cheesemakers and other food and drink artisans in Marin, Napa and Sonoma counties. She is thrilled and grateful to be at the helm of Bay Area Doorstep Market, offering those folks, and other artisan makers throughout Northern California, a robust community and direct-to-consumer marketplace.

Stephanie Amberg

Bay Area Doorstep Market, Marketing Manager

Décanteur Media, Founder

Born in San Francisco and raised in Marin County, Stephanie has had a lifelong love affair with the region and its edible bounty. After a stint in Paris, she returned to the Bay Area with a master's degree in global communications and an enriched understanding of taste, terroir and marketing. She is the founder of Décanteur Media, a boutique digital marketing agency serving the Bay Area's food, beverage & hospitality industry, and a contributor to Edible Marin & Wine Country.

Jennifer Solow

Jennifer Solow is a lifelong creative force. After graduating from RISD, Jennifer pursued a career in Advertising, where she won a Gold Lion, was named one of New York’s Young Guns by the Art Director’s Club and collaborated with creative luminaries like Spike Jonze, Spike Lee and Terry Richardson. In 2001, Jennifer performed a full life reset to pursue her truest creative passions: writing and the food world. Jennifer is a bestselling novelist and the publisher three Edible magazines. When the brutal reality of COVID descended, Jennifer had a vision for how to help the Makers in her Hudson Valley community connect with the large Edible audience who holds them dear. That vision became Doorstep Market. Jennifer is a mom (and stepmom) to four amazing adults and one very large kitchen garden at her farmstead in the bucolic hills of Columbia County, NY.

Tom Jacoby

Doorstep Market, Founder, The Business Guy

Tommy’s love of the Hudson River runs as deep and true as if the place itself was his family. An accomplished businessman, Tommy drives home to East Chatham and changes from his business suit to Carhartts as fast as possible. Tommy was raised in Columbia County, and while he’s lived in many places over the course of his life, he has always come home to these sacred lands. Along with his wife (see above), he was a founding contributor to the Berkeley Food Institute. Tommy has many hobbies and interests but perhaps his proudest moment was pulling in the 9500 pound class on a ’54 Case in the Columbia County Fair.

Jonathan Taee

Doorstep Market, Founder, Chief Technology Officer

Jonathan ended up in the Hudson River because he fell in love with a farmer. His wife owns and operates Ironwood Farm, and now he finds his house full of kids, mud and organic vegetables, and his table surrounded by a beautiful community of Hudson River families. When he’s not cooking, he’s running his digital agency Rhizome Consulting, assisting in the operation of Edible Hudson Valley, and now enjoying the rewarding work at Doorstep Market. He built this website and most of the mechanics that make it tick. He is excited to help connect incredible Makers with an expansive audience.

She spent much of her early career working for startup companies in the retail space before joining Wayfair as a buyer for their Joss & Main brand. More recently, Erica led the Merchandising team at The Grommet, supporting small independent makers and their emerging businesses. Erica is originally from the Cape Cod area but spent four very cold years in upstate New York attending Syracuse University (Go Orange!) while getting her degree in Marketing and Retail Management. Erica now lives just outside of Boston with her family where they like to spend their free time outdoors at the beach or hiking.

Maryellen Case

Doorstep Market, Director of Business Development

Maryellen Case is New York through and through. Born and raised in Western New York, she moved to New York City to pursue what would become a vibrantly successful career in marketing and publishing. In 2007, she made the move (before it was cool) and settled in Beacon. From then, Maryellen began forging her career in the Hudson River Valley, establishing MCaseMedia, Inc., as a marketing, sales, and business development consulting agency. Her outside-the-box business sense has cemented her as a leader in the Hudson River Valley publishing industry and helped to revolutionize the Hudson River Valley small business community.

Julia Sexton

Doorstep Market, Editor in Chief

Edible Hudson Valley, Edible Westchester, Editor in Chief

Julia comes to Doorstep Market as a national award-winning food writer, cookbook author, and the editor-in-chief of Edible Hudson Valley and Edible Westchester. Raised between New York City and the Hudson River Valley, she spent much of her childhood running dirty and wild in Woodstock and Washington County. For the last 15 years, Julia has traveled all over New York State profiling chefs, farmers, foragers, distillers, and brewers while cranking out restaurant reviews and round-ups. Old enough to pine for the fun and dangerous days of New York City, Julia now lives with her family in Westchester, and is happy to keep a foot in both the City and the Hudson River Valley.

Erin Brennan

Doorstep Market, Director of Marketing, Merchandising and Audience Development

Born and raised “across the river, to the Jersey side,” Erin Brennan prides herself as a chameleon in her professional life, one with some graphic design chops and a knack for the publishing industry. Brennan started as an ad designer for Edible Jersey but soon dove further into the Edible world, joining the production team at Edible Hudson Valley in 2018. As a frequent concert-goer who is constantly on the lookout for a good local drink and a vegetarian dish, she is no stranger to exploring the Hudson River Valley region and is honored to support local businesses in her community and beyond through Doorstep Market.

Ethan Jacoby

Doorstep Market, Director of Marketing, Merchandising and Audience Development

Ethan may be a global citizen but his New York roots have kept him grounded throughout his travels and various work projects. An avid baseball fan, Ethan spent the early part of his career in professional baseball and would later push his personal and professional boundaries across the Pacific, learning Mandarin and Cantonese in order to survive the hustle and grit of wet and dry markets across Hong Kong and Shanghai. A problem-solver and troubleshooter at heart, Ethan is the first line of contact for any questions coming from vendors or buyers related to orders and shipping. He finds satisfaction and inspiration in working with small businesses of all kinds and is always eager to engage with local makers to help their businesses run as best they can.
