Lyndigo Spice

Full of flavor with a spicy attitude!

Hey there, I'm Celeste and my love for cooking started when I was eleven years old. Instead of watching Saturday morning cartoons, I watched cooking shows on "WGBH" TV. I was born and raised in Roxbury, MA. in a community with a melting pot of different cultures. I had a lot of friends from the West Indies and always loved the amazing smells coming from their kitchens. While I attended Boston Latin School, class of '88, I had friends from many cultures and was introduced to Caribbean, Asian, Cape Verdean, Latin, Italian, Irish, and Greek cuisine. I have been cooking for years for my family and friends who told me I should start a catering business. In May of 2006, I took the plunge and established Lyndigo Catering. Then the recession hit some years later and everybody started doing a potluck. Go figure! My love for Ethnic food especially Caribbean and Indian is the inspiration behind my line of Artisanal products at Lyndigo Spice. I began making the Pineapple Chutney to cool down the heat of my Jamaican Jerk Chicken that I would make for my clients and their guests. Not Everyone can handle Jerk! They would always ask me if they could purchase the chutney in stores. My response was always "not yet". At every event, most people would be leaving with Pineapple Chutney on a small plate to enjoy later. Now several years and many recipes later I have created a line of chutneys, relishes, fruit spreads, and spice blends for you to enjoy!

When do you ship out orders?
We ship out orders within 7 days of being placed.

Do you recycle your jars?
Yes! We recycle our sample jars but not the lids. We encourage everyone who buys our products to recycle their jars too!  It's printed on the label. Eventually, we will encourage folks to bring their rinsed jars back to us at the farmer's market for a discount on their next purchase. We will keep you posted. We also re-use our boxes that our jars are shipped in with the finished product. Our farmer's market and demo tablecloths are made from recycled coffee bean bags from JP Licks in Jamaica Plain.

Are your ingredients locally sourced?
We source as much of our ingredients that we can from local farms. There are no Pineapple or Mango groves in New England, so we use frozen fruit from the US. Our blueberries come from Maine. Our spices come fair trade growers via our supplier and are all-natural and some organic. We use no fillers or anti-caking agents (silicone dioxide) in our spice blends.

Are there any discounts for buying in bulk?
Yup! Just shoot us an email and we will send you wholesale info.

How much sugar is in your Original Spice Rub?
Original Spice Rub contains 0.3grams sugar per ¼ teaspoon serving. This small amount of sugar mainly comes from the Brown Sugar and Organic Dried Cane Syrup ingredients. As per FDA labeling guidelines, it’s listed as “Not a significant source of…” on the label.

How can I carry your products in my store?
Send us an email for wholesale information.
