Description
Rose Garden is a collection of 12 vintage blocks in the pineapple pattern that I bordered with two contemporary fabrics and backed in a playful circus stripe.
The red fabric includes faint mathematical equations (hard to see in pictures), which is a subtle reference to the amount of math required of quilters!
Like all my quilts, this one is labeled with a title, my name, the location where it is made, a date, and an appliqued yo-yo. Yo-yos are round, rosette-like pieces that were popular in the 1930s & 1940s—great for using up fabric scraps—and were typically sewn together to make delicate coverlets. I was given a collection of 800 yo-yos made by a friend’s mother, and now use them as part of my signature. I think that it’s a safe bet that I will never run out!
Rose Garden is machine pieced, machine quilted, and hand finished. It measures 35"L x 28"W and is designed to be a wall hanging (hanging sleeve included). It is machine washable and dryable.
